Good news! Not all metals or metal alloy types cause allergic reactions or problems.
Having a nickel allergy, I know the difference between wearing a high grade piece of steel jewellery, and the cheap high nickel junk. Breaking out in a sudden rash because of cheap steel jewellery now is a choice. So have a look at the metals first.

Stainless Steel*
Hypoallergenic
Our steel clasps and hooks are 304 or 316L Stainless Steel, as are all of our steel details. It’s strong, and less likely to irritate a nickel allergy.
We believe 304 and 316L are the best grades of Stainless Steel for skin. Considered hypoallergenic, Lead free and friendly to the skin. It is a good choice if you have a Nickel sensitivity. It is durable, easy to use, requires minimal maintenance, and provides excellent resistance to corrosion, tarnish and rust.
They have a minimum percentage of Nickel (8-10% max) but.. stay there! It was shown that elicit no reactions in people already sensitized to Nickel. WHY? The allegens are Nickel salts that form when Nickel enters in contact with the acidity of the skin. This is a corrosion phenomenon where very small amounts of Nickel are taken away by acid moleculs and transfered to the body.

It’s a silver and copper alloy with a silver coating.
